Göran has been the Swedish Chamber Orchestra's section leader for viola since 2016. In addition to that role, he's freelancing as a soloist and chamber musician which has taken him to some of the most prominent concert halls in Europe and Japan, including Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, Bunka Kaikan Tokyo, and the Royal Albert Hall London, to name a few. Göran, who is a dedicated interpreter of new repertoire, has had several works written for him.
The album Nordic Connections was highly praised in the press and includes, among other pieces, the world premiere recording of Ludvig Norman's sonata for viola and piano and Gösta Nystroem's viola concerto. Göran is also a respected viola teacher at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and a lecturer in chamber music at the School of Music and Opera at Mälardalen University.
Göran's compositions and arrangements have recently achieved great success, and his works have been performed worldwide by orchestras such as the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, and the Amsterdam Sinfonietta.
